Steelers Re-Sign Lions RB, XFL CB to Practice Squad
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have added a couple of their old training camp invites to the practice squad this week.
Cornerback Luq Barcoo and running back Greg Bell have been re-signed as the Steelers deal with a laundry list of crucial injuries that will force them to dip into their practice squad depth.
Barcoo has bounced around with six NFL teams and an XFL squad since going undrafted in the spring of 2020. He signed with the Steelers in May and spent training camp in Pittsburgh, but appeared in just one preseason game without recording a tackle. The team released him at the final 53-man roster cut deadline.
Bell was added to the training camp roster in early August after the Detroit Lions, who signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2022, in July. He rushed 18 times for 34 yards and caught five passes for seven yards across three preseason games with the Steelers this summer.
To make room, the Steelers released practice squad cornerbacks Anthony Brown and Josiah Scott.
