Steelers Give Rams Practically Nothing in Allen Robinson Trade

The Pittsburgh Steelers get Allen Robinson on small salary and for little compensation.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers made another splash this offseason, finalizing a deal with the Los Angeles Rams for wide receiver Allen Robinson. And according to reports, they gave up very little for the Pro Bowler.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Steelers and Rams are swapping seventh-round picks. Pittsburgh receives Robinson and pick 251, and LA receives pick 234.

The other question that came with the trade was Robinson's cap hit. Last offseason, he signed a three-year, $46.5 million deal with $15 million in guarantees this year. Los Angeles has already paid $5 million of the guarantees, and will now take on another $5 million, splitting the remaining $10 million with the Steelers.

Robinson will join Diontae Johnson and George Pickens as immediate contributors to the Steelers' passing game. He adds a veteran presence to a room that includes two second-year players in Pickens and Calvin Austin III, and will likely add a rookie in the NFL Draft.

Robinson is coming off of a foot injury and will need to pass a physical before the trade is finalized. He played just 10 games last season, recording 33 catches for 339 yards and three touchdowns. Since 2020, he's totaled just 71 catches for 749 yards and four TDs in 22 games.
