PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers made some moves prior to beginning Week 8 practice in preparation for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The team announced four moves on their practice squad.

The Steelers have signed former New York Jets and Miami Hurricanes linebacker Caleb Johnson, and former New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals tight end Scotty Washington.

They also released tight end Noah Gindorff and offensive tackle Obinna Eze.

Both Gindorff and Eze signed with the team just last week.

Johnson comes to Pittsburgh as an undrafted rookie who spent the summer in New York. The former Hurricane started his college career at UCLA, seeing playing time during his junior, senior and super-senior seasons. He finished his career with 30 games of action, 137 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two interceptions, three pass deflections, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

Washington started his career on the Bengals practice squad in 2020 but ended up playing five games for the Patriots last season. He's yet to record an NFL stat.
