PITTSBURGH -- A former Pittsburgh Steelers pass rusher is back on the market, according to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Bud Dupree, a former first-round pick of the Steelers in 2015, has been released by the Tennesse Titans, making the 30-year-old defensive end a free agent.

Dupree was in line to make $17 million this season after signing a five-year, $82.5 million contract with the Titans after his rookie deal with the Steelers expired in 2019 and the team franchise tagged him in 2020. Over 22 games as a Titan, Dupree made 35 tackles, eight for a loss, and seven sacks.

The Steelers are reportedly waiting for the Titans to release Dupree before diving in on a reunion with their old friend. Pittsburgh has already signed Quincy Roche and Jamir Jones to add depth behind Alex Highsmith and T.J. Watt, but are still looking for more starter-quality players. The Steelers are also exploring the draft to fill that need, meeting with top-end prospects like Will McDonald and Lukas Van Ness.
