Steelers Without Minkah Fitzpatrick at Training Camp
LATROBE — The Pittsburgh Steelers are without of their biggest stars as they work through Week 1 of training camp at Saint Vicent College. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick has been present in Latrobe but hasn’t practiced, and according to head coach Mike Tomlin, it’s due to personal reasons.
Fitzpatrick has worked off to the side before and after practice and has watched team drills from the back, much like he does when he’s subbed out during a normal day. Through three practice sessions, though, he’s yet to take a defensive snap.
The Steelers did not place any players on the Physically Unable to Perform list prior to camp, and head coach Mike Tomlin ruled out any injury with Fitzpatrick after the first practice.
In his place, the Steelers have operated with Damontae Kazee and Keanu Neal as the starting safeties, with Tre Norwood, Miles Killebrew and Kenny Robinson working as depth players.
