Steelers Working on Second NFL Draft Trade
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers aren't done on Day 1 of the 2023 NFL Draft. After moving up from 17 to 14 for Georgia left tackle Broderick Jones, the team remains "open for business," according to head coach Mike Tomlin, and the team will return to mulling calls before the 31st pick.
The Steelers sent picks 17 and 120 to the New England Patriots to get Jones ahead of their original first-round pick. The team was thrilled to land their offensive tackle of the future but with the 32nd and 49th picks still on the board, they're looking for more opportunities.
The Steelers are believed to be on the market for a cornerback and defensive lineman early in the draft. Both positions are still on the board, with names like Joey Porter Jr. and Bryan Bresee undrafted nearing the later stages of the first round.
The Steelers still have the 32nd, 49th, 80th, 241st and 251st picks in the draft.
