Seahawks May Look to Trade Former Steelers LB Devin Bush

The former Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick is likely on his way out of Seattle.

PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Devin Bush may be looking for his third NFL team, as reports claim his time with the Seattle Seahawks may be coming to a close.

The News Tribune reports Gregg Bell believes the team could be looking to move on from Bush before they finalize their 53-man roster after the fifth-year linebacker failed to impress during the preseason.

"If Bush’s contract he signed as a free agent this spring didn’t guarantee he gets $2.99 million from the Seahawks this season, he’d likely be cut," Bell writes. "They may be trying to trade him now that Brooks is back from his torn ACL to start with Wagner. Bush playing the first three quarters and getting a concussion covering a punt in the final preseason game, when all other veteran regulars were in sweatpants on the sidelines, was a signal he’s lost value."

Bush signed a one-year, $3.5 million with the Seahawks in free agency after leaving the Steelers. The former 10th-overall pick was initially viewed as a starter but has since slipped on the depth chart in Seattle.

It's tough to say what Bush's value in the trade market would be at this point after a couple of tough seasons following an ACL injury.
