Steelers WR Diontae Johnson Suffers Knee Injury
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are dealing with more significant injury news as kickoff of a crucial game against the Indianapolis Colts draws closer and closer.
Starting wide receiver Diontae Johnson was the latest addition to a lengthy injury report for the Steelers this week. Johnson was listed as a non-participant in practice with a knee injury for the first time this week.
Johnson played in and finished last week's game against the New England Patriots. He wasn't listed on the Steelers' first injury report of the week either, meaning he must have suffered this injury in practice on Wednesday.
This is not the first time Johnson's been hurt this season. He suffered a hamstring injury in Week 1 against the 49ers and spent four weeks on injured reserve before returning to action in Week 7. Since getting back on the field, he's caught 34 passes for 427 yards and three touchdowns.
Elsewhere on the injury report, the Steelers made some positive strides.
Running back Najee Harris (knee) practiced fully without sitting out the day before. Safety Damotae Kazee (ankle) was upgraded from limited participation to full participation. Outside linebacker T.J. Watt (concussion) was also upgraded from limited participation to full participation.
Linebacker Elandon Roberts (groin) did not practice yesterday but was a limited participant today.
Offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo (shoulder) did not practice for the second straight day and outside linebacker Alex Highsmith (concussion) was a limited participant again. Defensive tackle Keeanu Benton (oblique) was also limited for consecutive practices.
Cornerback James Pierre (shoulder) participated fully for the second straight day and quarterback Kenny Pickett (ankle) was sidelined again, as expected and will not play this weekend.
