T.J. Watt Shouts Out Steelers Fans After Raiders Win

Visiting Pittsburgh Steelers fans made a trip to Las Vegas sound like a home game.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers fans turned out in droves to help turn Allegiant Stadium from the Las Vegas Raiders' home venue to what felt more like a neutral site.

Steelers fans have a reputation for traveling well and they were able to prove that on a nationally televised Sunday Night Football game. During key plays or calls that went against the Steelers, fans made their presence felt by everyone in attendance.

“Steeler Nation has been incredible whether we’re at Acrisure or we’re here or on the road or hopefully next week too," linebacker T.J. Watt said. "I just want them to know the importance of them to the game."

In addition to an emotional lift for the visiting Steelers, fans made a tangible difference on their 23-18 win in Las Vegas, forcing the Raiders to use silent snap counts on offense because of the noise.

"To be able to have a team on a silent count in their own stadium is pretty demoralizing in and of itself and it also helps the pass rush more," Watt said. "I’m really appreciative of everyone who came out and was loud.”

Cornerback Patrick Peterson, playing in his first road game as a Steeler, said following the game that the fanbase was part of the reason why he chose to sign with Pittsburgh this offseason and they gave him his first taste of home away from home.

“There’s nothing like this Steeler Nation," Peterson said. "They show up wherever we play.”
