Steelers Are Going QB Hunting

The Pittsburgh Steelers want competition at quarterback, and they don't care how they find it.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping Kenny Pickett is their starting quarterback in 2024, but after the season they just had, head coach Mike Tomlin is acknowledging the team needs competition.

Their top choice in that competition is Mason Rudolph, but as Tomlin was quick to say multiple times during his end-of-the-year press conference, Rudolph is a free agent. It could mean nothing, but it could also mean he's headed elsewhere for a bigger paycheck or a better opportunity.

If he is gone, the Steelers still want competition. That could come through the NFL Draft, which Tomlin will scout to ensure the team does not miss an opportunity on a star. It could also come through free agency or a trade.

With Omar Khan running the show for a second year, it's hard to rule out the Steelers making a move for the right name at the right price.

However it happens, though, one thing is sure - the Steelers are going quarterback hunting to find competition for Pickett.
