Former Texas A&M wideout Mike Evans made a name for himself in college with his size and athleticism. Now in his 10th season in the NFL and with the Buccaneers, not much has changed. At 6-5, 235 pounds, he presents a unique matchup problem for defensive backs ... and defensive coordinators.

Texans defensive coordinator Matt Burke is preparing thoroughly for Evans this weekend.

“He’s obviously a bigger receiver,” Burke said. “I guess the frustration would lie where like he could still make a play — like you could be in good coverage and tight coverage and he can just go up and make the play.”

With his size, Evans can play physical ball, and that creates issues for smaller defensive backs. But Burke is trying to prepare his guys to fight through it.

“Obviously, for us to preach battling through the catch and being physical at the point where the ball is in the air, I mean, he has a good knack for getting separation, I’ll put it that way,” said Burke. “I think that would be the frustration — that you can be in a good call and in good coverage and he can still obviously go up and make a play.

“I think the point of emphasis for us is just really finishing through the catch point and really trying to battle at those points is going to be big for us.”

The Texans have been successful this season stifling opposing offense's passing games. Against Houston, wide receivers have combined for 89 catches (No. 9 in the league), for 1,009 yards (No. 6) and just two touchdowns (No. 2).

Burke and Co. have until Sunday at 12 p.m. CT to figure out a solution for Evans and the B
