LOOK: Texans Wish Legendary WR Andre Johnson Happy Birthday

Johnson, 42, has missed the cut for the Hall-of-Fame the last two years, but that didn't prevent the Texans from honoring their former wide receiver and Ring-of-Honor membon his birthday.
In this story:

He may not have been recognized by the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but Andre Johnson is certainly regarded by the Houston Texans as one of their best players of all time.

Amassing 13,597 yards and 64 touchdowns during his 12-year Houston career, Johnson solidified himself atop the Texans' record books, earning the inaugural spot in Houston's Ring of Honor — set to be joined by Hall-of-Fame DE J.J. Watt this season.

Despite his accomplishments, Johnson still didn't receive a Hall-of-Fame nod. That didn't matter to Houston on Tuesday, however, as it wished their former star a Happy 42nd Birthday.

The Texans' social media account did give him a new middle name, though.

Naturally, Johnson wants to join the list of the best players to ever touch the gridiron, and optimistically, he eventually will. But for now, he's honored to be among the Texans' all-time greats. That's special in its own right.

"I’m just a kid from Miami — I made Houston home," Johnson said. "I see so many people, and everybody is always talking about, ‘When you got to Canton, we’re going to be there.’ I can only imagine what Canton will be looking like. It’s something that is talked about a lot. Especially with the finalist list coming out."
