NASHVILLE - One of the most significant needs for the Tennessee Titans in this week's NFL Draft is at wide receiver, and general manager Ran Carthon knows it.

So on Monday, when Carthon spoke with the media before Thursday's opening round, he was not surprised to be asked about the receiver position and where he sees the depth in this class.

"There's depth everywhere in this draft," Carthon said.

"One thing, you know, you look at it now, in college football, there's a lot of talented receivers, right, because it's a passing game." continued Carthon. "Everyone's spread, and so most teams pay with four or five receivers at a time, so there's value from the top all the way down.

As for how this draft stacks up with big physical type receivers versus smaller types, Cathon shared this.

"I think there's a variety. You have what you're looking for, and I don't want to name players specifically, but you can imagine," continued Carthon. "There are the big, taller guys that can go up and get the ball; they are the physical guys. You have your slot guys who can win, who can create separation laterally, and then you have your jackrabbits that can align anywhere and do a bunch of things when you get the ball in their hands and make plays. So it's a variety all the way throughout."

While Carthon would not name specific players, his statement is clear that he sees value outside round one, and it could be assumed that he and the Titans are not necessarily set on using their first-round pick, No.11 overall on this position.

Regardless of what Carthon and the Titans decide to do in round one, it seems likely that they will be addressing that area of need during the three-day run of this draft.
