Now that the Reese's Senior Bowl is over and college football prospects have performed their first audition for NFL scouts, the latest round of NFL mock drafts have been published. This week, ESPN's Matt Miller released his latest two-round projections for the 2024 NFL Draft. What is he expecting the Tennessee Titans to do?

Miller predicts the Titans will address their two biggest needs through the draft: offensive tackle and wide receiver. Here is a look at his two-round mock for Tennessee:

Round 1, Pick No. 7

  • Selection: Joe Alt, offensive tackle
  • College: Notre Dame

What ESPN is saying

"With teams rushing to grab top quarterbacks and receivers, the Titans are able to sit tight at No. 7 and still land the best left tackle in the class. Alt is a pro-ready starter with three years of experience at Notre Dame. At 6-foot-8 and 322 pounds, the 20-year-old is a bully in the run game, but his real value is in pass protection, where he allowed one sack and just four pressures in 2023."

Quick thought

No surprise here. The Titans desperately need an offensive tackle and Alt has been the popular name among draft analysts. He has the potential to be a Day 1 starter in Nashville — something this team needs in order to improve its passing game.

Round 2, Pick No. 38

  • Selection: Adonai Mitchell, wide receiver
  • College: Texas

What ESPN is saying

"The Titans lack a future WR1. Treylon Burks has struggled to live up to his first-round billing and veteran DeAndre Hopkins will be 32 years old next season. Mitchell is a 6-foot-4 wideout with really good separating ability that showed on tape to the tune of 11 touchdowns and 41 first-down receptions for the Longhorns in 2023. He is at his best on vertical routes, which matches up well with the arm talent of Titans quarterback Will Levis."

Quick thought

The Titans taking a wide receiver with their second-round pick has been another popular decision among draft analysts. Levis needs a long-term option in the passing attack and Mitchell can be that player. He likely would spend his first season as the No. 2 option, behind Hopkins. Then, Mitchell could easily emerge as the top target for Tennessee in 2025.

Overall reaction

Let's be honest, nothing from this mock draft is surprising. At this point, the only thing analysts disagree on with Tennessee's first-round pick is if it will be Alt or Penn State's Olu Fashanu. The Titans can't go wrong with either selection.

That Mitchell could land with the Titans in the second round is more intriguing. Multiple wide receivers have been mentioned as potential targets on Tennessee's board, including Devontez Walker (North Carolina), Xavier Legette (South Carolina), and Roman Wilson (Michigan).

It's important to remember that we're only in February. Still to come are the NFL Scouting Combine, pro days, and player interviews. Much will change between now and April 25.
