The Tennessee Titans need to bounce back from a Week 5 loss and come back from London with a win over the Baltimore Ravens. For that to happen there are a few players who will need to step up and make big plays on the way to victory.
DeAndre Hopkins
Hopkins had his best performance as a Titan against the Colts, catching eight passes for 140 yards. Unfortunately, it came in a loss due to poor red zone offense from the Titans, that surprisingly didn't feature Hopkins.
Nonetheless, the Titans will need a similar performance against a Ravens defense that has been incredibly stingy to tight ends this year. Outside of a Week 4 matchup against the Browns' David Njoku, who caught six passes for 46 yards, the Ravens haven't allowed tight ends to do much of anything the other four weeks, holding tight ends to 11 catches for 58 yards.
Hopkins will have a much tougher matchup in Week 6 than Week 5 when he faces Baltimore's Marlon Humphrey, but the Titans will need the production to continue as the middle of the field may not be a wise place to attack.
Jeffery Simmons
Simmons had a rough outing, like most everyone else on defense, in the Titans loss to the Colts. He was banged up with an ankle coming in and got a nasty looking shoulder injury during the game from some friendly fire. He fought through, but it is obvious he was affected.
Simmons is good to go for Week 6 though and the Titans need him to be otherworldly as he typically is. Especially against the weak spots of the Ravens' offensive line in left guard John Simpson. Worth noting, the Ravens do have a good offensive line and should be fully healthy, so there is no easy task.
Simmons shouldn't care. Simpson has only given up seven pressures this season, but one on one with Simmons should favor the Titans. If Simmons has an All-Pro performance and affects the game like he can, the Titans stand a great chance.
Azeez Al-Shaair & Jack Gibbens
The Titans' starting linebackers had their worst performance of the season in Week 5. They consistently were out of position and as head coach Mike Vrabel said all week, they simply got blocked. If the Titans simply get blocked again, they will simply lose again.
Which means Gibbens and Al-Shaair are under the microscope. With Lamar Jackson's running ability and the diverse run game of the Ravens, the linebackers will need to go side to side all day, but also be ready to take on a downhill offensive lineman.
A tough ask no doubt, but that is playing linebacker in the modern NFL. If Al-Shaair and Gibbens even resemble how they looked last week early on, it could lead to another big day on the ground for the Titans' opponent.
