No XFL Receivers So Far For Titans, Could USFL Be An Option?

It's unknown if the Tennessee Titans were interested in either of the top receivers in the XFL, but could they find options in the USFL?

NASHVILLE - In recent days, both  Mike Vrabel and Ran Carthon have referenced the possibility of adding the Tennessee Titans adding more talent to their roster, and in particular, their wide receiver corps.

Now that the draft has concluded and the best free agents have been signed, where could the Titans possibly find help at receiver?

One option would be to trade for a veteran like DeAndre Hopkins, though that's unlikely. Other options would include finding help among the ranks of the XFL, and USFL as the former has recently concluded their season, while the latter will conclude in time (June 1st) for those players to participate in training camps.

The Titans either did not invite or were turned down by the top two receivers from the XFL. Jahcour Pearson and Hakeem Butler have accepted invitations to join the Colts and Steelers for their upcoming camps.

Pearson, an Ole Miss product, led the league in receiving this season, gathering 60 receptions for 670 yards and four scores. Butler, a 6-foot-7 target, finished second with 51 receptions for 599 yards but led the league with eight touchdown receptions.

Other XFL players the Titans could potentially target are Darius Shappard, Lucky Jackson, and Jeff Baget, who all produced solid numbers during their seasons.

Then there is the USFL, where their season is still in progress. Still, there will likely be some players who get NFL shots once their seasons end, including Lance Lenior Jr. or Victor Bolden Jr., of the Birmingham Stallion, who are the defending league champions and a favorite to repeat this season.

Of course, there could be other options, and the Titans could patiently wait for other teams to begin releasing players and find possible upgrades there.

Whatever the plan, the Titans could stand to add more depth and competition heading into training camp in hopes of being able to upgrade their weakness on the outside heading into training camp and the 2023 season.
