Tennessee Titans Officially Set Their Practice Squad, Reportedly Add Kicker Cade York

The Tennessee Titans set their 53-man roster on Tuesday, but Wednesday turned the focus to the practice squad. A very valuable group of players who provide not only a backup group that can be used on gamedays, but that also functions as the scout team going against the varsity each practice.
Below is a list of the players who made the practice squad:
Cade York* - Kicker
Thomas Odukoya - Tight End(International Pathway Program Exemption)
Kevin Rader - Tight End
Mason Kinsey - Wide Receiver
Tre'Shaun Harrison - Wide Receiver
Kyle Peko - Defensive Line
Sam Okuayinonu - Defensive Line
Thomas Rush - Edge Rusher
John Ojukwu - Offensive Tackle
Eric Garror - Cornerback
Armani Marsh - Cornerback
Chance Campbell - Linebacker
Shyheim Carter - Safety
Michael Dwumfour - Defensive Line
Jordan Roos - Guard
Andrew Rupcich - Guard
T.K. McLendon - Defensive Line
The big name that sticks out here is Cade York. York was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2022 out of LSU. He struggled in his rookie year making only 24 of his 32 field goal attempts and only 32 of his 35 extra points. York struggled in training camp for the Browns and was cut.
Despite the struggles, York is only a year removed from actually getting drafted as a kicker after a very successful college career. York wouldn't be the first person to struggle with the Browns and go on to better days. The Titans are wise to take a chance on a young kicker like York, 22 years old, and see if they could have a long-term answer.
That is the long view, but in the short term, York can help with kickoff duties if called up to the active roster. The Titans traded for veteran kicker Nick Folk on Tuesday, but Folk doesn't have the leg strength he once did and may not be a reliable option on kickoffs.
York wasn't on the Titans' official release for the practice squad, but it was reported by Adam Schefter they will be bringing him on.

They also traded a 2025 7th-round pick to New England yesterday for kicker Nick Folk.
One last thing of note. The NFL only allows 16 players on the practice squad, but with York, 17 players are listed. This is possible because tight end Thomas Odukoya came from the NFL's international pathway program. The NFL assigns an international prospect to a team and gives them special roster exemptions for three years.
This means that the Titans can keep Odukoya on the practice squad and be awarded an additional 17th spot. A roster loophole they are clearly taking advantage of.
