From Mater Dei to Alabama, The Pipeline Continues With 2024 Cornerback Commitment
The Alabama Crimson Tide taps a familiar well with its newest commitment. Mater Dei in California has given Alabama Bryce Young, Elias Ricks and Tommy Brown over the last few seasons.
2024 four-star cornerback Zabien Brown adds his name to the list of Mater Dei prospects to Alabama after announcing his commitment to the Tide on Sunday.
He chose Alabama over Ohio State and Southern Cal.
Brown is considered the No. 7 corner in the 2024 class and is considered the No. 6 overall player in the state of California by the 247Sports Composite.
The 6-foot, 180 pound athlete finished sixth on Mater Dei's defense in tackles in 2022 with 32 and led the team with three interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, while also breaking up five passes.
The Crimson Tide offered Brown a scholarship in June of 2021 and the California corner was in Tuscaloosa for an official visit this past month.
He joins Jaylen Mbakwe and Jameer Grimlsey as the Crimson Tide corners in the 2024 class and was primarily recruited by Holmon Wiggins.
The Crimson Tide is now up to 12 members in the 2024 class after Brown's decision and is likely done adding cornerbacks to this class.
Alabama now sits with the No. 14 overall class and the No. 6 class in the SEC according to 247Sports.
