Recruiting Rundown: What's Next For The Tide After Two Flips This Week?
After missing out on 5-star safety KJ Bolden on Saturday the Alabama Crimson Tide quickly pivoted and welcomed two safeties into the 2024 recruiting class this week.
Nick Saban and his staff flipped the commitment of Peyton Woodyard and Red Morgan in back-to-back days. Woodyard had been in Georgia's pocket and Morgan in Florida State's, but now they're both part of the Crimson Tide recruiting class, giving Alabama 17 total commitments and keeping the Tide in the top five recruiting classes in this cycle.
Alabama has between eight to ten more scholarships in this class to utilize. Who are the next major targets to watch?
According to On3's Andrew Bone, tight end Jay Lindsey out of Butler, Alabama is strongly considering flipping his commitment from Mississippi State to the Crimson Tide. Lindsey is a 3-star prospect but at 6-5, 235 pounds, there's an athletic frame to work with and develop.
Next Friday, August 18, Alabama legacy Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. is making his commitment. Kirkpatrick Jr. is considered a 3-star prospect and has narrowed his top four to Alabama, Auburn, Missouri and Arkansas.
Lastly on the football front, rumors have been circulating about Saraland wide receiver Ryan Williams. Williams, the reigning Mr. Football in the state of Alabama is considered the No. 1 player in the state and the No. 3 overall recruit in the 2025 class; however, speculation is mounting that the star receiver will reclassify into the 2024 class. This situation will be one to monitor closely and he could be a huge addition to the Tide's current class.
