FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Yeah, we're in that time of the year when no news around Arkansas sports can jump into spotlight and Davonte Davis managed to do that Friday on a radio show.

Devo was a surprise caller to John Nabors and Joe Franklin on Out of Bounds on The Buzz in Little Rock. While you can probably call it an update, it actually didn't offer a lot of really new information. He's working out.

“[I am] taking it day-by-day, really,” Davis said. “I should for sure figure it out pretty soon, just knowing that I’ve got to prepare for whatever I’m going to do. I want to make sure I’m able to prepare the right way.

Davis said he does not have a set date to announce a decision on his future. The NCAA, however, has a May 31 deadline to withdraw from the draft. He wasn't invited to the NBA Combine or the G League Elite Camp, so his only option may be to tray and get to the NBA the hard way with a detour through Europe.

"I'm training with Coach Antonio (Buchanan) right now, one of my former AAU coaches. Right now just training and waiting for a little bit," Davis said. "Taking it day by day, really. I will for sure figure it out pretty soon. Just knowing that I have to prepare for whatever I'm going to do, so I want to make sure I'm able to prepare the right way. There's not a timeline, but I'll know in a few weeks exactly what I'm going to do."

Actually he'll know in less than 20 days or coming back to the Razorbacks won't be an option for the Jacksonville native, who has played his way into the hearts of Hog fans over the last three years.
