Johni Broome given odds to win the Wooden Award

Could Johni Broome win the Wooden Award?

The Wooden Award is given to the best player in college basketball, and last season, it was given to Purdue's Zach Edey.

Could it be time for an Auburn Tiger to hold the trophy?

FanDuel Sportsbook put out their odds for who could win this year's Wooden Award, and Auburn center Johni Broome was given some pretty good odds.

The second-year Tiger, after transferring from Morehead State, has +8000 odds to win the award, according to FanDuel.

Broome is expected to have an outstanding second season in the SEC, where he could potentially win SEC Player of the Year.

He averaged 14.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists a game last season and will look to increase the point and rebound totals this season.

With a more talented 2023-24 Auburn basketball roster, this could help Broome as teams will have to game plan for much more than just him.

Teams have to be ready for Aden Holloway, Denver Jones, and KD Johnson so Broome will be able to feast down low.

In the media, a lot of people think this Auburn basketball team will be a middle of the road team, but if Broome has a big year and Holloway plus the transfer players work out, teams need to watch out for Bruce Pearl's squad.
