Five reasons Auburn could struggle against the LSU Tigers
Auburn is set to hit the road and take on the #22 LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge.
This is a ball game that is surrounded by uncertainty as some people think Auburn will compete and others think, they will lose big.
Hopefully, the bye week was good for Hugh Freeze's squad, and they were able to get healthy before another game against a ranked opponent.
The hope for Auburn is that the offense looks better on Saturday against an LSU defense that looks vulnerable.
Let's take a look at five reasons Auburn could struggle against LSU.
Jayden Daniels goes off
Looking at the numbers, Jayden Daniels has put up this season, it's hard to understand why he isn't solidified in the Heisman conversation. Daniels is a really good quarterback in the SEC and is putting up video game-like numbers. If he has a big game and this Auburn defense struggles, it will be hard for Auburn to win a shootout.
LSU offense has balance
One way Auburn could stay in this football game is if they keep LSU's offense one-dimensional. If they take away the run or the pass, you can stop this team. If you are unable to do this and Daniels beats you with his arm and legs, Auburn could get blown out under the lights of Tiger Stadium.
Malik Nabers is really good
Malik Nabers is one of the best receivers in college football, and his numbers this season so far are insane. Auburn has a banged-up secondary heading into this ball game, so Nabers is definitely a big concern for DC Ron Roberts currently. If they can stop Nabers, it will help, but if he goes off, this score could be lopsided.
Auburn's offense struggles
Auburn's defense might be able to slow LSU, but they won't be able to stop them. This means the Auburn offense will have to put some points on the board for the Tigers to pull off the upset. If Payton Thorne plays his best game of the season, Auburn has a shot in this game. If he struggles, Auburn fans could be in for a painful Saturday evening.
The atmosphere is too much
It's no secret that Tiger Stadium has been a tough place to play for the Auburn Tigers for a very long time. It's also no secret that it is one of the best atmospheres in college football. This will be the most difficult atmosphere Auburn faces all season long. If the team responds well and quiets the fans early, they can hang around. If LSU goes up early, the roar of Death Valley could prove to be too much.
