Defensive Lineman Legend Journey Commits to Cal Football
Cal has gone into Texas to pull out another football recruit as defensive end Legend Journey of Arlington, Texas, announced on social media that he has committed to Cal for the 2024 class.
Journey is the 11th player to commit to Cal for the class of 2024, and five of them are from Texas.
The other four Cal commits from Texas are running back Jamaal Wiley, defensive lineman Michael-Anthony Okwura, linebacker Eze Osondu and offensive lineman Tyler Knape.
The 6-foot-2, 250-pound Journey is rated a three-star recruit who chose the Golden Bears over offers from Washington, TCU, Oklahoma State, Missouri and Texas Tech, among others. He also received an offer from North Texas, which is Cal's season-opening opponent on Sept. 2.
Journey visited the Cal campus on June 23.
In his junior season at Mansfield Summit High School, Journey recorded 54 tackles, including 14 tackles for loss and two sacks. He also had five quarterback hurries.
He played defensive tackle as a junior but is expected to play on the edge in college.
