Bettors Liking The Bearcats On The Road Against SMU

The public is heavily backing Cincinnati.

CINCINNATI — The Bearcats opened up as 4.5-point favorites against SMU on Saturday, and that has since been bet to -5.5 on SI Sportsbook.

Cincinnati got another cover in its 83-55 blowout win over East Carolina and is now ready to notch consecutive road results. SMU has been one of the worst teams in the country against the number (6-10-1). That's sending a lot of bettors toward the Bearcats (87% of bets as of this writing).

The Mustangs rank among the bottom 70 teams in the whole country covering spreads this season. They've lost three straight games against the number.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati is 12-5 ATS this year, which ranks eighth nationally.

The Mustangs are waiting to see injury news on leading scorer Zhuric Phelps. His status could move this number even more.
