Look: PFF Grades Luke Kandra as Power Five's Best Right Guard
CINCINNATI — UC football right guard Luke Kandra stands above all other Power Five players at his position as the 2023 season starts to wind down. Pro Football Focus has Kandra (80.1 overall) graded as the best right guard among all Power Five teams this season.
He is the second-highest-graded player on the Bearcats offense or defense (Myles Montgomery: 83.1 overall) and has been the team's MVP during a tough run to start its Big 12 tenure. The one thing UC's done well all season is run the ball and Kandra's opened plenty of those lanes.
He boasts an 80 run block grade which is eight points higher than the next closest offensive lineman to play at least 100 snaps (Gavin Gerhardt: 72.6).
Kandra has been a sounding board for other players on the blocking unit as well, helping to get this system integrated quickly from Louisville and excel all season despite loaded boxes and inconsistent at-best passing attacks.
