CINCINNATI — UC football announced the latest haul of transfers on Tuesday and a new name appeared on the list in former Michigan State defensive tackle Jalen Hunt.

Hunt appeared in 23 games with five starts across the defensive line for Michigan State from 2020-22, tallying 19 tackles and 2 TFLs after redshirting in 2019.

He has two years of eligibility left as a redshirt senior and committed to Houston for the upcoming season before flipping to UC.

The 6-foot-4, 320-pound lineman should be a versatile depth piece for Cincinnati's strongest unit. Hunt played an overwhelming majority of his snaps at MSU as a defensive tackle but has logged 128 snaps as a defensive end across the past three seasons.

He posted a 59.7 overall PFF grade last season. That ranked 67th among 79 Big 10 defensive ends that logged 50-plus snaps.

Check out Scott Satterfield's thoughts on the incoming transfers:

“I’m excited to officially welcome our newest Bearcats to the University of Cincinnati and our football program,” Satterfield said in a press release. “This group of talented young men will make us better right away. They bring much-needed experience to the offensive and defensive sides of the ball and will elevate many of our position rooms, especially our receivers group. The start of camp and Higher Ground is right around the corner and we can’t wait to get started preparing for Eastern Kentucky and playing inside Nippert Stadium.”
