CINCINNATI — It's getting harder and harder to believe Luke Fickell.

The Bearcats head football coach appeared on the ESPN College Football Playoff rankings show on Tuesday night and once again told Rece Davis he was too busy preparing for an opponent to watch the show.

"Well, I just found out," Fickell told Davis when the host introduced his team at No.4. "Sorry I didn't get to watch your guy's show we're still preparing. We got an early game, so."

All jokes aside, the Bearcats latest CFP ranking is no laughing matter. Cincinnati is in the top four for the first time in school history. They have a great chance to make the final cut if they win their final regular-season game against ECU and close out the AAC campaign with a championship title next Saturday against No. 24 Houston.

Check out Fickell's full comments on the CFP ranking show below.

The Bearcats travel to Greenville, North Carolina, this week for a Black Friday showdown with ECU. The kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
