CINCINNATI — The Bearcats kicking woes may get fixed next season after landing their latest target in the transfer portal.

Delaware kicker Ryan Coe is joining the Bearcats after a year where UC cycled through multiple non-effective kickers.

Coe finished the 2021 season t-21st among FCS kickers with an 82.4% made FG rate. He went 23-of-23 on extra points for the Blue Hens this season.

Cincinnati finished the season 129th-out of-130 FBS teams in team field goal percentage (43.75%). Northwestern was the only team worse than the Bearcats. It was a big reason they finished 78th in Bill Connelly's special teams SP+ metric.

The Bearcats will try to score a touchdown on every one of their Cotton Bowl possessions to avoid ever attempting a field goal. Alabama ranks 26th in special teams SP+.

Cincinnati takes on the Crimson Tide on Dec. 31 at 3:30 p.m. ET with a spot in the National Championship up for grabs.
