CINCINNATI — The Bearcats just secured a commitment from 2024 four-star forward/center Tyler McKinley out of Link Academy (Missouri).

He is the first commit of the 2024 class for Cincinnati.

Alabama, Michigan State, Ohio State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Xavier were all involved, but he decided to roll with his hometown school. Mckinley averaged 17.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game during the 2021-22 season at Walnut Hills in Cincinnati before transferring to Link.

247Sports has him ranked as the 62nd-best player in the 2024 class. He is the site's 12th-ranked center and No. 1 player in Missouri.

The 6-foot-9, 220-pound bruiser has a great feel around the rim and even better feet to utilize. He can run the break as a freight-train-like ballhandler, and he has a solid back-to-the-basket game. The playmaking feel is noticeable from a player of his size, as he tends to play at a stable pace before exploding for rim runs.

His jump shot is a bit of an unknown at this point based on available footage, but all the tools are there to be an impactful frontcourt player in the Big 12.
