Florida Legacy Commit Locked In with Gators
Business in Florida's talent acquisition department is booming.
Acquiring nine commits in June, including seven in a 55-hour span, the 2024 class has more than doubled to begin the summer and built positive momentum for the program's future. But, the new faces aren't the only ones making newsworthy announcements.
Since the impressive surge pieced together by Billy Napier and his staff, longstanding 2024 commits have come out to express their loyalty to the program moving forward by shutting down their recruitment. It started with safeties Xavier Filsaime and Josiah Davis on Monday evening before running back Kahnen Daniels did so Tuesday morning.
On Friday night, as talent trekked to Gainesville for 2023's rendition of the annual Friday Night Lights camp, two more commits shut down their recruitment while in attendance.
Largo (Fla.) linebacker Adarius Hayes — who has endured a recent push from Miami — was the first to lock it down with the Gators. His partner-in-crime in the second level Myles Graham followed suit just over 30 minutes later.
"Y'all already knew this, tho'," Graham said in his post.
The news comes as no surprise to those who have followed the legacy commit — as the son of former Gators running back Earnest Graham — since he became the first 2024 pledge in August.
The Woodward Academy (Ga.) linebacker is freshly removed from his official visit to campus June 9-11. He's played a heavy role in recruiting other prospective talents to join him in Gainesville in recent months and will continue to do so moving forward as he stands firm in his decision to don orange and blue threads at the next level.
You can learn more about Graham's skillset via his All Gators biography below.
Florida's first commitment from the class of 2024 was a familiar one as Graham is a legacy pledge. His father, Earnest Graham, played running back for Florida from 1998-2002 and ranks fifth in program history in career rushing yards. The younger Graham projects to play on the other side of the line of scrimmage at weak-side linebacker, however, after compiling 193 total tackles, five sacks, nine tackles for loss, an interception, 11 pass breakups and three forced fumbles from 2021-22.
