Recruits React To Florida State's Closer Than Expected Victory Against Boston College

Florida State held on for dear life over the weekend as the Seminoles kept their heads above the water in Chestnut Hill, surviving the Eagles by a slim margin of 31-29. Head coach Mike Norvell and his team got out to a 31-10 advantage before nearly watching it evaporate in a swift collapse, escaping after Boston College set a program record for penalties in a single game.

With the Seminoles sitting as a top-five team in the country, plenty of commitments and recruits tuned in to watch the ACC opener. The contest drew the fifth-largest audience in Week 3, making it clear that there will be a lot of eyes on Florida State moving forward.

Three-Star Offensive Lineman Deryc Plazz (Miami Commit): "It was a sloppy win have some things to clean up I think miami wins it this year."

2025 Three-Star Defensive End Tylon Lee: "It was a good game I love the way both sides of the ball competed no matter what the circumstances was."

Four-Star Defensive Back Ricky Knight III (FSU Commit): "It wasn’t a pretty win but we got the job done and honestly that’s all that matters."

2026 Five-Star Defensive Back Zechariah Fort: "It was a close game but the Seminoles fought hard to the end, and ended up winning the game."

2026 Defensive Back Jalon Copeland: "it was a great hard fought game. they fought all the way to the end & came out with the W."

2026 Athlete Jonah Winston: "It was a real battle. BC put up a good fight! I still feel like this ain't nothing to be worried about, them 'Noles still about to dominate."

Three-Star Kicker Jake Weinberg (FSU Commit): "Just happy we got the win and excited for next week's game."
