Five Things Georgia Fans Should Be Thankful For This Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a holiday rooted in being thankful for what you have. Whether it be friends, family, or something else everyone has at least something to be thankful for. But for Georgia fans, they have more than most. Here are a few things that Georgia fans have to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
1. Mike Bobo and Carson Beck
Most teams that have to replace an offensive coordinator and a veteran starting quarterback would likely have to put their national championship hopes aside for that season. However, thanks to Mike Bobo and Carson Beck, the Dawgs offense has flourished to become one of the most dangerous passing attacks in the nation.
2. TightRope® Surgery
Sprained ankles are some of the most difficult injuries for a player to return from. With varying severity and timetables for healing, a sprained ankle can derail a player's entire season. But thanks to the revolutionary TightRope® surgery. Two of the Bulldogs' potential first-round picks (Brock Bowers and Amarius Mims) have been able to return from the injury and finish out the 2023 season with the Bulldogs.
3. Georgia is Making History
The Bulldogs' 28 straight victories are currently tied with the SEC's longest win streak in college football history. A record that they will have an excellent chance at break this Saturday when they play Georgia Tech. Georgia has also secured its third straight 8-0 season in conference play. Something that has never been done before. On top of all of this, the Bulldogs also have a remarkable chance at winning the historic third straight national championship. Something that hasn't been done since the 1930s.
4. Fans Finally Got Their Night Games
After a 2022 season that didn't see a single night game, Bulldog fans were treated to not one, but four games under the lights in Sanford Stadium. A major gift for those who are fans of Sanford's iconic red lights.
5. This is the Golden Age of Georgia Football
It should never be lost on fans that 41 years of disappointment and coming "so close" have ended in tremendous fashion. Georgia fans, look around. You are finally on top of the college football world and it doesn't look like you will be going anywhere anytime soon.
