Georgia had quite a few standout performances a few weeks back during their annual spring scrimmage, but arguably no one shined brighter than wide receiver Mekhi Mews. Whether it was making explosive plays on special teams as a kick returner or showing out in the passing game, Mews was doing it all for the Bulldogs. His performance sparked a lot of attention and has even helped him land a recent NIL deal with a local establishment in Athens.

Alumni Cookie Dough has partnered with Georgia players before, and now they have partnered with Mews for a summer NIL deal following his G-Day performance. Fans might remember Georgia defensive back, Javon Bullard, partnering with Alumni Cookie Dough. The organization introduced a new flavor called "Bullard's Buckeye Cookie Krunch" which was inspired by Bullard's MVP performance against Ohio State in the college football playoffs during last season.

The Georgia wide receiver tallied four receptions for 91 receiving yards and a touchdown during the Bulldogs' spring scrimmage. He also took a return all the way to the house for a touchdown. In previous seasons, Mews has seen some in-game action as a reserve and on special teams, but after this spring, he very well might have earned himself some more playing time when the fall rolls around.

Mews committed to Georgia back in January of 2021 as a preferred walk-on. The Georgia native was flooded with mid-major offers, but after a big senior season, he opted to wait until the traditional national signing day before pledging his services to a school. He had 1,522 total yards for his high school in his final year and found the end zone 11 times. He showcased his blazing speed during today's scrimmage and displayed his explosive potential in Georgia's offense.

Fans typically hear about the big names in the sport inking NIL deals with a variety of brands and capitalizing off of their name, image, and likeness. But it's also good to see a player like Mews, who continues to work his way to earning more playing time, be able to capitalize off of a big-time performance this offseason.
