Georgia Tech Basketball adds 2023 prospect Ibrahima Sacko
Over the weekend, Georgia Tech Basketball made a nice addition to its 2023 class.
Ibrahima Sacko, who is originally from Guinea but has prepped at J Addison in Ontario in Canada, committed to Georgia Tech, joining four-star forward Baye Ndongo as the two players in the class.
Sacko listed his top four schools last month. Georgia Tech beat out BYU, Oregon, and Xavier for Sacko.
Sacko is a 6''6 wing player that has a 7'1 wingspan. He is an intriguing athlete that brings a high upside to the Yellow Jackets, maybe as soon as this season. Stoudamire has helped develop NBA players while with the Boston Celtics and that could be a big thing in Georgia Tech's favor. He is also a solid rebounder.
If you have heard Stoudamire talk about how he wants his roster to look now and in the future, he constantly mentions athleticism and length as two things that he is looking for when making roster decisions. He discussed this with analyst Jon Rothstein on the College Hoops Today Podcast:
But honestly, I think all of the guys that we added, I brought in length, I wanted long guys, I wanted athletic guys, I wanted three and D type of guys.
He has four years of eligibility left and has a chance to possibly make an impact for the Yellow Jackets last season. Stoudamire has remade this roster with transfers like Kowacie Reeves, Amaree Abram, Ebenezer Dowuona, Tyzhaun Claude, Tafara Gapare, and Jalen Forrest and they got a big boost with last year's leading scorer Miles Kelly deciding to come back to Atlanta for another season.
