Unless you are a Georgia Tech fan or follow recruiting super closely, you might not know that the Yellow Jackets have a top 25 class on both Rivals and 247Sports and are 28th on On3. Whether the Yellow Jackets can stay there is the question but give Brent Key and his staff their due for the momentum they have created for themselves.

On 247Sports and Rivals, Georgia Tech ranks 20th, with players like edge rusher CJ Jackson, wide receiver Isaiah Canion, and cornerback Troy Stevenson leading the way for the class. Canion was a big flip from Notre Dame and he is one of my favorite prospects in the entire class. He can go up and high point the ball and make tough catches with his 6'3 180 LBS frame and he is one of the most slept-on prospects in the state of Georgia.

On3 is the lowest of all the major sits on this recruiting class, but the Yellow Jackets class is still ranked among the best in the ACC (4th),

One big development of this recruiting cycle has been Georgia Tech going into Louisiana and getting talented prospects.

Koby Young (New Orleans, LA) is rated as a four-star receiver on Rivals and getting his commitment was one of the biggest victories of the recruiting cycle for both Key, special teams coach Ricky Brumfield and wide receivers coach Josh Crawford. Just this week, three-star defensive back Christian Pritchett joined the class and became the latest addition from New Orleans.

The Yellow Jackets have a chance to finish in the top 25. Former head coach Geoff Collins finished 28th with his 2020 class which included Jahmyr Gibbs and Jeff Sims but could not build off of that due to poor results on the field. Key is off to a good start but there is still work to be done.

What Georgia Tech must do now to hold onto this class is win and show that the program is heading in the right direction. Do that and Georgia Tech's recruiting has a chance to improve further than the top 25 class they currently have.
