Report: Georgia Tech's Ja'von Franklin will join the Miami Heat for NBA summer league
While he did not get drafted on Thursday night, former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Ja'von Franklin will find himself in a favorable situation to start his NBA career.
Franklin is going to be playing for the Miami Heat in the NBA's Summer League this year. The Heat made their second NBA Finals appearance in four years and lost in five games to the Denver Nuggets.
After transferring to Georgia Tech last season, Franklin was arguably the best player on the Yellow Jackets. In 32 games, Franklin averaged 9.7 PPG, 8.1 RPG, 2.2 assists per game. 1.4 steals per game, and 1. 6 blocks per game. He was the third leading scorer on Georgia Tech last season.
This could be a favorable situation for Franklin because of the success that the Heat have had with undrafted players in recent seasons. Guys like Duncan Robinson and others going on to have big roles in the franchise. It is hard to argue that a franchise develops undrafted players better and hopefully, Franklin is the next one.
