The final official visit weekend of the summer is here in college football.

For Georgia Tech, that means that they are bringing in more targets for their official visits. Last weekend was a success for Georgia Tech, as they got multiple commitments including offensive lineman Jordan Floyd, running back Jaedon Matthews, quarterback Graham Knowles, defensive back Nehemiah Chandler, tight end Luke Harpring, and wide receiver Koby Young.

Young was the big get for Georgia Tech this past week. He is now the highest-ranked player in the class and the Yellow Jackets got him over several big programs. Head coach Brent Key is going to be looking for more wins like that and to keep climbing.

In the 247Sports rankings, Georgia Tech is 9th, but they are now closer to several teams after the past week. The Yellow Jackets have 167.19 points and Duke, who is 5th in the ACC, has 181.92. GT is close to moving up if they can land some more of their targets.

Elsewhere in the conference, Clemson, Pitt, and North Carolina remain in the top three. The Tigers hold a sizeable lead right now (16 points) over Pitt.

Florida State, Duke, and Wake Forest are 4th, 5th, and 6th and the only change in those three is that Duke leapfrogged Wake for No. 5 this week. Mike Elko and Dave Clawson have done a great job this cycle and it will be interesting to see if either program has any staying power in the top half of ACC recruiting.

Virginia Tech falls from No. 7 to No. 10 and Miami, Louisville, and Georgia Tech now form No. 7, No. 8, and No. 9. Miami picked up a few key commitments this week and I still believe they are the biggest threat to make a big move up. Georgia Tech is almost tied with the Cardinals for 8th.

Syracuse, NC State, Virginia, and Boston College make up the bottom of the rankings. The Wolfpack did move up two spots to 12th and Syracuse moved up one to 11.

It will be interesting to revisit these rankings in the next week. The final summer official visit period is here and that could mean a flurry of commitments for some schools that will reshuffle things.
