Georgia Tech Football Weekly Recruiting Update: 6/12
This was a huge week for Georgia Tech recruiting.
The Yellow Jackets added two targets to their 2024 recruiting class with ATH Trey Horne and defensive tackle Landen Marshall joining the class. On top of that, Georgia Tech hosted another big weekend of official visits that saw multiple four-star prospects on campus this weekend. The Yellow Jackets also hosted their second prospect camp of the summer last week.
Let's recap the week that was in Georgia Tech recruiting.
1. 2024 Three-Star Athlete Trey Horne commits to Georgia Tech
Horne plays both sides of the ball, but he was very good as a wide receiver last season and I think that is where he is likely to stick at the next level.
Horne is now the highest-rated recruit in Georgia Tech's class according to 247Sports.
Here are some stats and notes on Horne courtesy of 247 Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins:
"Has also competed in track and field events. As an 11th grader, clocked an 11.27 in the 100-meter dash. Also posted a 20-8.25 effort in the long jump.202 2: Transferred into Rabun Gap-Nacoochee where he reclassified. Got snaps on both sides of the ball, but did most of his damage at WR. Caught 47 passes for 772 yards and 7 TD. Also carried the ball 57 times for 532 yards and 14 TD. On defense, was credited with 14 tackles. Earned All-Conference honors.2022: Played QB while at Piedmont (S.C.) Wren."
2. 2024 Three-star defensive tackle Landen Marshall commits to Georgia Tech
Marshall is a 6'3 290 LBS three-star prospect on the 247Sports Composite and is ranked as the 1,085th prospect in the nation and the 39th-ranked prospect in Alabama. He is the first defensive tackle in the Yellow Jackets class and the second defensive lineman.
Other offers that Marshall had were Michigan, Arkansas, LSU, Texas, Miami, Florida State, Oregon, and Ole Miss, among others.
3. 2024 Georgia Tech target Willie Goodwyn commits to Cincinnati
4. Georgia Tech Offensive line target Terez Davis commits to Maryland
5. 12 2024 Targets take their official visits to Georgia Tech
Among the list of official visitors this weekend was four-star star defensive lineman Kavion Henderson, four-star tight end Kylan Fox, four-star wide receiver Mario Craver, three-star wide receiver Koby Young, three-star athlete Michael Turner, three-star linebacker D'Angelo Barber, three-star offensive lineman Jameson Riggs, three-star edge Josiah Knight, linebacker commit Demontrae Gaston, running back Dashun Reeder, and tight end David Prince.
