Brent Key gives an injury report update ahead of game against No. 17 Miami

Key spoke with the media today and gave an update on the injury report

Tuesday is when Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key meets with the media and the making topic of conversation today was the changes made on the defensive staff, Key also gave an injury report ahead of a critical matchup against Miami.

Georgia Tech was missing offensive tackle Jordan Williams against Bowling Green last week, as well as wide receiver Chase Lane, who has been out for the past couple of games. Key said that Williams will be out again this week, while they are unsure if Lane will be able to go. He also said that running back Jamal Haynes is good to go this week:

"Jamal is a full go. Jamal is out there begging to get on more special teams. In the middle of practice today, I pulled someone off one of the teams and put him on there because he wants to be the person that has an impact on that team on that play. Jordan is still week-to-week, Jordan is out. Chase has gotten back to work this week and we will see how it goes this week and we will see if he can be a full go guy on Saturday or not. It is looking positive, I hope he can, but again, we are not going to rush something and put him in a position where he can't be able to play at the continuation of the season, when he is back fully healthy and ready to go, he will go. He has been back on the field and dressed out Sunday and dressed out today and was running around."

Haynes being good to go is good news, as he is the leading rusher for the Yellow Jackets this season and one of the most explosive players on the offense.

Williams was out for the last game and missed most of the Wake Forest game as well. Jakiah Leftwich will get the start at right tackle in his absence.

If Lane does indeed return, it will give a boost to what is already a solid position for the Yellow Jackets. As big underdogs this week, Georgia Tech will need all the help that they can get.
