Georgia Tech needs a win today against Boston College to boost its bowl hopes

For the first time in two weeks, it is gameday for Georiga Tech! The Yellow Jackets have a crucial game today against Boston College and the winner of this game will give a huge boost to its bowl game hopes, while the loser will have a big uphill battle on their hands.

Earlier this morning, ESPN's Pete Thamel dropped some big injury news for Boston College. The Eagles are going to be without their top running back today, but they are expected to get one of their starting offensive lineman back for this game.

Boston College does have one of the top running games in the ACC and that is going to be one of the key matchups, as Georgia Tech's run defense has been a significant issue this season.

1st Quarter

Boston College has won the toss and will defer. Haynes King and the offense are up first for Georgia Tech.

A false start penalty backed Georgia Tech up to a 3rd and 11 and Boston College got pressure on King. Yellow Jackets punting away on their first drive

Boston College begins their first drive at their own nine-yard line with 13:15 left in the first quarter

Defense forces a three and out. Boston College will punt it back to GT with 12:23 left in the first quarter

Three and out for the offense. GT punts it back to Boston College with 11:09 left in the 1st. Neither offense can get it going

Castellanos finds an open receiver and BC is in the Georgia Tech red zone

The field goal kick is good and the Eagles lead Georgia Tech 3-0 with 8:51 left in the first quarter

King finds Blaylock and the Yellow Jackets are across midfield now.

Touchdown Jamal Haynes! 16-yard touchdown run gives Georgia Tech the lead with 3:49 left in the first quarter

Castellanos scrambles but fails to pick up the first down. GT forces a three-and-out and gets the ball back

Georgia Tech will begin its next drive on its own 22-yard line with 2:17 left in the first quarter.

King's pass is intercepted and Boston College returns it for a touchdown. The Eagles lead 10-7 with 1:42 left in the first quarter

That is the end of the quarter. Boston College leads Georgia Tech 10-7. Georgia Tech outgained Boston College 117-94, with 90 of those yards coming on the ground.

2nd Quarter

Boston College starts its next drive at their own 20-yard line

Georgia Tech forces a punt after a great tackle from Jaylon King on the third down play. Eagles tried to get Georgia Tech to jump, but the Yellow Jackets did not. Georgia Tech will take over at their own nine-yard line with 10:24 left in the second quarter.

Boston College holds Georgia Tech to a field goal after some questionable no-calls on second and third down. The game is now tied 10-10 with 6:02 left in the first half. Was a 46-yard field goal for Aidan Birr.

Castellanos picks up the fourth down conversion. First down BC on the Georgia Tech 12 yard line.

Touchdown run for Castellanos. Boston College takes the lead with 52 seconds left in the first half.

Halftime- Georgia Tech trails Boston College 17-10

3rd Quarter

Boston College will start their drive on their own 25-yard line

Interception Ahmari Harvey! The first turnover forced today by the Georgia Tech defense

Touchdown Georgia Tech!! Haynes King takes it 71 yards for the score! The game is tied 17-17 with 12:06 left in the third quarter

Georgia Tech gets a stop on third and four to force a field goal from the Eagles

The field goal is no good! The game remains tied 17-17 with 7:41 left in the third quarter. Georgia Tech's defense has bent but not broken a lot today

Three and out for Georgia Tech's offense. Boston College takes over at their own 27-yard line with 7:07 left in the third quarter

After a big run from Castellanos, Georgia Tech forces a punt and will take over at their own 11-yard line. 5:34 to go in the quarter

Touchdown Georgia Tech! Avery Boyd with the TD and the Yellow Jackets now have the lead. Birr missed the extra point and it is 23-17 with 2:08 left in the third quarter

End of the third quarter. Georgia Tech leads 23-17. Boston College has the ball on the Yellow Jackets 29-yard line. Could be a close finish here in Atlanta in a game both teams need to win

4th Quarter

Touchdown Boston College. Eagles lead Georgia Tech 24-23 with 14:24 to go in the game.

Castellanos burst up the middle for a long touchdown on fourth and short. Still a one-score game but that was killer. 8:44 left in the game

Terrible decision by King and it was intercepted. Boston College takes over at their own 40-yard line up eight with 7:54 left to play. Three straight games with multiple interceptions for King

Touchdown Boston College and Georgia Tech is in big trouble. Yellow Jackets trail 38-23 with 7:24 left in the game. Two play 60-yard drive for Boston College
