Juanyeh Thomas impressing early in Dallas Cowboys Training Camp

Thomas is fighting to make the roster for the Dallas Cowboys

One of the stars of this year's training camp for the Dallas Cowboys is none other than former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Juanyeh Thomas. Thomas has been making plays at camp in the first few days and that has led to praise from Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy.

Thomas was running with the first team due to the Cowboys being banged up at safety for the time being and it seems like he is making the most of his opportunity.

Being an ace on special teams is always a key for guys on the bubble of making the roster for an NFL team and according to McCarthy, Thomas has shined in that area. He is a physical player that seems to be getting better with NFL coaching. Playing for one of the NFL's best defensive coordinators in Dan Quinn is also a huge plus. 

Thomas did not play for the Cowboys during the regular season, but he made plays during the 2022 preseason and will be fighting for a roster spot on a team that hopes to contend for a Super Bowl.

In January, the Cowboys signed Thomas to a future/reserve contract.

During Thomas's last season on The Flats in 2021, he set a career-high in tackles with 81 and had one sack and two forced fumbles.

Dallas opens their preseason on August 12th against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
