Keion White Puts Up Solid Showing In Day 1 of NFL Combine

The former Tech pass rusher looked good moving through the drills in front of NFL scouts.

Keion White just went through his workouts at the combine, showing more of what he brings to the table.

Here are his official measurements:

34'' arms is an excellent measurement. It's not elite length, but it is above average. It bodes well for his versatility at the next level and his ability to implement swim and long-arm pass rush moves.

The height and weight are not too far from previous assessments, so no real surprises. He's above average in both areas. His weight makes him a good candidate to move inside as a defensive tackle but doesn't rule him out as an option to play as an edge defender.

White also recorded a 34'' vertical leap. It's a solid distance, but the vertical leap is not as predictive as a broad jump or 10-yard splits.

White also looked good moving in space during the wave drill for pass rushers. He avoided slipping and got low, which is everything scouts are looking to see in this drill. He was also smooth in the bag drill, which is designed to assess the foot speed of these prospects.

In the pass rush drill, he was able to slap the tackling dummies around with no problems. The drill can really only hurt a prospect if they slip or don't contact with power, but it was nice to see White keep his stock up. He had two powerful punches while moving around the edge.

Unfortunately, he didn't run the 40-yard dash or a 10-yard split, so that data isn't available yet. He will likely run both at his Pro Day - where he is expected to put up an impressive time of 4.6 seconds in the 40.

His solid showing today bodes well for his chances of getting selected high. While he didn't secure a spot in the first round, he did enough to keep himself in the conversation.
