LaMiles Brooks Talks About Taking His Game To The Next Level
LaMiles Brooks was one of the biggest breakout players in the ACC last season and is going to be the leader of a defense that is losing experienced playmakers like Keion White, Charlie Thomas, and Ace Eley.
The Yellow Jackets' safety room is going to be one of the best in the ACC and the secondary as a whole has a chance to be special.
Even though he had a great season last year, Brooks is focusing on practicing and preparing like a pro to take his game to the next level:
"Just continuing to prepare and practice like a pro. Everything that took place last year was a byproduct of my preparation and I am trying to better that going into the spring and into the summer and the fall."
Brooks is cross-training at safety and the nickel spot and that is something that is going to make him a more versatile player this season:
"That is something that I love and I did a little bit of that last season. I can play nickel to give K.J. (Wallace) a break and I look forward to continuing to do that, showing how versatile I can be and make plays all over the field."
While practicing and preparing like a pro helped Brooks to have a breakout season in 2022, he says that is the message to the entire defensive backs room right now:
"Just preparing and practicing like a pro. That is the overall message of the room. Corners, nickels, and safeties."
Brooks and the rest of the defense will take the field for the spring game on April 15th at 1:00 p.m.
