Cincinnati Lands Former Kentucky OL Deondre Buford
Another former Kentucky offensive lineman has found a new home.
After three seasons in Lexington, Deondre Buford is making a quick trip up north to play for former Louisville head coach Scott Satterfield and the Cincinnati Bearcats:
Buford committed to UK as a 4-star recruit coming out of Martin Luther King High School in Detroit, Mich. The 6-foot-3, 312-pounder didn't play in the COVID-shortened 2020 season, saw action in two games in 2021 but played in all 13 games as a redshirt sophomore.
With starting RT Jeremy Flax missing time due to injury last season, Buford saw extensive backup snaps and even made two starts, which came against South Carolina and No. 1 Georgia. Kentucky added USC OT Courtland Ford out of the transfer portal, but Buford was still expected to earn snaps as a junior in the 2023 season.
Buford's commitment follows David Wohlabaugh Jr, another former Wildcat OL who has found a new home — following in his father's footsteps to play for the Syracuse Orange.
Kentucky has seen plenty of action in the portal as of late, bringing in two more players on Tuesday — NC State running back Demie Sumo-Karngbaye and D-II defensive back Kevin Larkins Jr.
