Purdue Transfer OL Eric Miller Commits to Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football program's post-spring recruiting run continues to skyrocket, this time landing a player who is very familiar with new head coach Jeff Brohm.
Offensive lineman Eric Miller, who spent the first five years of his collegiate career with Purdue before opting to enter the transfer portal just two days ago, announced Thursday that he has committed to play his final season of collegiate eligibility for the Cardinals.
The 6-foot-7, 305-pound offensive tackle started all 14 games for the Boilermakers last season, with his first five starts coming at left tackle and the final nine at right tackle. In 587 pass block snaps taken, he allowed only four sacks, four quarterback hits and 18 quarterback hurries. He played 961 offensive snaps in total for the the 2022 season.
After redshirting his true freshman year in 2018, the Mason, Ohio native was a regular fixture of Purdue's offensive line rotation. Playing in 2,034 total snaps across 41 appearances and 29 starts, he allowed only eight sacks, eight quarterback hits and 49 quarterback hurries for a career efficiency of 97.0 percent.
Miller is the sixth transfer to commit to Louisville following their spring game last Friday. He joins former Rutgers offensive tackle Willie Tyler, former Oregon linebacker Keith Brown, and former North Carolina teammates safety Cam'Ron Kelly and cornerback Storm Duck, and former Houston offensive tackle Lance Robinson.
During that span of time, the Cardinals also secured verbal pledges from a trio of 2024 prospects: offensive tackles Ransom McDermott and Jimmy Williams, as well as wide receiver Shaun Boykins Jr.
Louisville has been incredibly active in the transfer portal since Jeff Brohm was hired as their head coach in December. While the Cardinals have lost 20 via the portal since the end of the regular season, Robinson is now the 19th to transfer in over the offseason.
The Cardinals finished their 2022 season with an overall mark of 8-5 (4-4 in ACC), including a 24-7 win in the Fenway Bowl over Cincinnati. They'll kick off their 2023 season against Georgia Tech in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Classic at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. on Friday, Sept. 1.
