It's all but over....Miami wins 89-75

1:33 to play and Wong at the line for 2. He missed the first, and made the second. Miami up 87-72.

Canes can smell it....Miami up 80-67 with 2:58 to play!

Don't pressure Miami! Easy bucket! Houston right back...Miami leads 78-67.

Omier just banked in a shot from the free throw line, Miami up 76-62.

Poplar foul. Houston now at the line. Walker knocked in both, Miami up 74-62 with 5:17 to play.

Houston finally with a good offensive play. A layup brings it to 74-60.

He hit 1 of 2. Miami up 74-58. Then, Houston threw it out of bounds.

Wong with the blow by. He's fouled and now he has 2 shots at the line.

Miami continues to move the ball very well. One of the nation's most difficult teams to guard when it's unselfish. Miaim up 72-58 with 7:14 to play. Timeout Canes.

Also, Alabama just lost. The Crimson Tide were the No. 1 overall seed.

Houston must make a run now. Otherwise, this game will quickly end up being a foul fest and Miami going to the line over and over, starting with about 2 minutes to play.

Wong! Strong hoop. Canes up 72 to 55.

8:50 to play and Miami is still up 70-55 after a layup by Houston.

Poplar from deep! Miami up 70-53!

10:35 Wong to the line for 2. He hits both. Miami now leading 67-53.

11:03 Miller with a 3! Miami up 65-53.

What a performance by Pack:

Pack AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Miami up 62-53.

Omier finds a way, Miami up 56-51. Then PACK for 33333333333333333!

Turnover and a layup for Houston, Miami up 54-51

From way downtown, bang! Miami up 54-49 and Houston threw the ball out of bounds.

NIJEL PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

15:27 to play in the game. Miami has hit 47.5% and down well on the boards with a great Houston squad, as they were No. 7 in the nation so far this year.

Wong missed, but Miller with the rebound and lay in. Miami up 51-45.

Great stat by Jim Nance: 17 buckets and only 1 turnover for Miami.

Right now would be danger time for Houston. If the Canes continue to operate their offense like they started the second half, the Cougars will struggle to cut into the lead.

18:52 Canes ROLLING......up 47-36 as Jordan Miller hit a layup off of an Omier drive and dish. Timeout Houston!

Note: Miami's Pack has been the primary scorer with 14, while Houston's Sasser scored 11. That was not a surprise based on this projection.

Omier was perfect on the free throw...Canes up 37-31.

How about this?

Fast and furious, Miami scored 5 quick points with Nijel Pack hitting a shot from way behind the 3-point line, and then Norchad Omier getting a layup and being fouled. He's shooting 1 after a TV timeout. Canes lead 36-31.

Just like that....it's tied with another 3. Then Wong got off a tough shot and made it. Miami 31-29.

7:00 Jarace knocked in a 3 .... 29-26 Miami up.

Critical juncture for Miami. If they can hold off Houston's impending run (you know it will come out fired up from this timeout), Miami should go into halftime with a lead.

Miami out and running....another dunk for Walker....Then, immediately after, an outlet to Nijel Pack for another layup, and the Canes go up 29-23. Timeout Houston!

8:11 Nijel Pack....AGAIN from 3! Miami up 25-23.

If the Canes can go into halftime playing like they are up until this point, the pressure will increase for Houston. Remember, the Cougars were a 7.5 favorite prior to the game starting.

9:01 Houston's Sharp drilled a 3. Houston back up 23-22.

9:25 Nijel Pack from 25 feet, Canes up 22-20.

10 minute mark - Houston up 20-19.

11:30 Jordan Miller throws down a transition dunk, Canes lead 19-15.
