Transfer Portal: Jadais Richard Commits to Miami Hurricanes
One of the goals for Miami Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal has been gaining more overall talent and depth.
Defensively, one of the biggest needs was talent in the secondary, as the Canes lost seven players to the Transfer Portal from last season alone, plus second round NFL Draft pick Tyrique Stevenson to the Chicago Bears. That’s why the news that cornerback Jadais Richard will join the Green and Orange was great news for the Canes.
Here’s the breakdown for Richard from his time at West Monroe (La.) High School through his freshman season in Nashville.

How Richard Fits In With the Miami Hurricanes

There’s something more important to note.
Options. He can possibly even help at multiple positions.
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 197 pounds by the Vanderbilt Commodores athletic website, Richard will be a candidate to play cornerback or safety for Miami. He was listed as a safety out of West Monroe High School, but how Miami wants to use Richard will dictate his spot(s) in Coral Gables.

Because of Richard’s size and length, he will find a niche, perhaps more than one, in time. Keep in mind that defensive backs with excellent size like Richard generally have a better chance to help at different positions.
Overall, Richard will be another long and rangy secondary member that Jahmile Addae can utilize. Additionally, it’s great that he will have three years of eligibility with the Hurricanes.
