Two Ohio State WRs Projected In 1st Round of PFF Mock Draft

Ohio State wide receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka are two of the top receivers in the draft class, see where they come in on PFF's latest mock draft.

After a much needed bye week, head coach Ryan Day and his Ohio State squad are making their finals preparations as they gear up to face Maryland this coming Saturday. Two Buckeyes who seem to always be ready, though, are wide outs Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka.

The dynamic duo lit up scoreboards last season with each going for over 1000 yards receiving and scoring double digit touchdowns. Both are off to a good start this year as well, having already made multiple trips to the end zone.

Ohio State has started 4-0, and there's a lot of season left to play, but NFL scouts know the draft picture at this point and like what they see from the Buckeye pass catchers. Pro Football Focus released their latest 2024 mock draft and included both Harrison Jr. and Egbuka as first round selections.

As of right now, the Chicago Bears, home to former Buckeyes QB Justin Fields, look like they may end up with the first two selections in this coming April's draft. Experts think they'll take USC quarterback and last year's Heisman winner Caleb Williams with the first overall pick. After that, though, the Bears will need to get him a true number one receiver, and that's where Harrison Jr. come in.

Harrison Jr. projects to be the second player off the board and the first non-QB in any scenario. NFL GMs love what they see from the son of Hall-of-Famer Marvin Harrison and think he's a lock to turn out as a solid pro at the very least.

As for his partner in crime, Egbuka, he may have to wait a bit longer to hear his name called, but not too much longer. PFF projects that he'll be taken at number twenty-two overall by the Tennessee Titans. That would make him the fourth receiver taken, but some would argue he could be considered the second or third best route runner in this class, especially considering his ability to play both slot and outside.

Having two playmakers this highly regarded by the NFL is a good sign for this Ohio State offense going forward. With Harrison Jr. and Egbuka, the pieces are there to be a dynamic unit. Now, the Buckeyes just have to put it together.
