OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels made a statement on Saturday when 2024 five-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin announced that he had officially committed to Lane Kiffin's program.

The Lake Cormorant (Miss.) native chose Ole Miss over the Auburn Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers, Miami Hurricanes, and Florida State Seminoles.

This is now the second year in a row that the No. 1 recruit in the state of Mississippi has pledged to Ole Miss, despite tight competition from Auburn.

While Franklin's recruitment will likely continue until signing day, the Rebels have picked up an elite program-changer following a late surge from new defensive coordinator Pete Golding and assistant Randall Joyner.

Golding was hired in January and is already showing off his recruiting chops after reeling in the nation's No. 8 defensive lineman recruit. The "Stay in the Sip" movement is alive and well as the Rebels have also received commitments from 2024  four-star defenders Jeffrey Rush, Kamron Beavers, and Raymond Collins. All three recruits, Like Franklin, are from Mississippi.

With Franklin's pledge, Kiffin and his staff are proving to the rest of college football that the best recruits in Mississippi come to Ole Miss.

The Rebels now have the No. 23 recruitment class in the 2024 cycle, according to On3. Kiffin and Co. are putting together something special in Oxford and they are building it around homegrown talent like Franklin and former five-star linebacker Suntarine Perkins.
