Nishad Strother, East Carolina Offensive Line Transfer, Commits to Oregon Ducks
Former East Carolina offensive lineman Nishad Strother has committed to the Oregon Ducks.
He announced his decision on social media Monday morning.
The 6-foot-3, 326-pound junior is originally from Havelock, North Carolina and committed to Oregon shortly after a recent visit to Eugene.
Strother played four seasons with the Pirates and logged 30 starts. He primarily played guard before entering the transfer portal.
He's the third offensive lineman to commit to Oregon from the transfer portal this offseason, joining Junior Angilau (Texas) and Ajani Cornelius (Rhode Island). He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Oregon's offensive line has been a little banged up of late with Marcus Harper II getting injured in spring practice and Angilau being held out of the spring game as he works back from injury.
Jackson Powers-Johnson and Harper are considered the leading candidates to replace Alex Forsyth at center in 2023. Josh Conerly Jr. projects to be the starting left tackle to protect Bo Nix's blind side, while Steven Jones rounds out the main returners from a season ago.
A'lique Terry continues to help bolster the offensive line in Eugene as the Ducks reload after losing a majority of their starters from 2022 including T.J. Bass, Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu and Ryan Walk.
